Grupo de Ativistas em Tratamento (GAT) is a collaboration of activists and community organisations working to achieve the goals of the Fast Track Cities Initiative and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for health. GAT’s GATALMADA project provides interventions among communities with increased risk for acquiring HIV, viral hepatitis and other STIs. This includes men who have sex with men, people who use drugs, sex workers, migrants and people without housing in the city of Almada.

Fundação Portuguesa A Comunidade Contra a SIDA was established in 1993 with the main objectives of providing confidential and free direct support to people affected by HIV/AIDS, promoting information/training for HIV/AIDS health and prevention and associated risk behaviors, promoting the prevention of violence in the school context and collaborating in scientific research projects in the medical and psychosocial areas, among others. The Plus Project aims to decrease undiagnosed cases of people living with HIV by conducting community-based screening, helping newly diagnosed individuals access and remain in care and providing training and education.
