Building HIV Health Literacy in Priority Migrant Populations

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is one of Australia’s leading research institutions in public health. Working with HIV community organizations and key populations, QUT helps promote health literacy in Queensland, Australia. Building HIV health literacy in priority migrant populations works with migrant communities to co-design HIV information and resources. Through a multicultural healthcare community outreach service, the project helps build health literacy at the individual, organizational and community levels.

Seizing the Opportunity: Increasing Timely HIV Diagnosis, Reducing Undiagnosed Prevalence and Reducing New Infections Through Self-Testing

The National Association of People with HIV Australia (NAPWHA) and Queensland Positive People (QPP) are community-based organizations led by, and serving, the community of people living with HIV in Australia and the state of Queensland. Seizing the Opportunity is a joint program between NAPWHA and QPP, providing one year’s worth of home HIV testing kits with rapid linkage to HIV peer navigation services and clinical appointments for follow-up tests.
