LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Sex Education Pilot in Greater Cleveland

Lesbian Gay Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of Greater Cleveland enriches the lives of the diverse LGBTQIA+ community through advocacy, support, education and celebration. This program helps empower leaders in the LGBTQIA+ and education fields to create an LGBTQIA+ inclusive sexual education curriculum focusing on HIV prevention for youth ages 11 to 20. This works to fill a gap in culturally-attuned sexual education that includes and affirms LGBTQIA+ youth. Collaborators evaluate this curriculum in three settings: a school focused on LGBTQIA+ youth in an LGBTQIA+ center, LGBTQIA+ after-school programming and a mainstream high school. This helps lay the groundwork for broader dissemination.
